OverviewFormation Skydiving (FS): This is where two or more people exit the aircraft and form different formations in the air, every formation completed we call a point and the aim is to get as many points as possible before braking off to deploy your own parachute. The training provided by an experienced FS Coach to give you a good level of skill to work relative with someone else is shown in the bullets below, however as always in skydiving we don’t just provide you with the necessary skills to do it, we will also teach you how to be safe while doing it. Formation Skydiving (FS)• Control fall rate. • Control horizontal movement, (forwards, backwards and sideways). • Achieve ‘docking’ techniques. • Turn in place. • Dive and approach a target. • Complete four points of 4-way FS. The course consists of 10 skydives and is run very similar to the AFF course where you have set skills to learn and practice. The course is completed after completing a 4 way skydive and achieving 4 points, the average student who trains with a good FS coach usually manages to complete between 6 to 10 points. Once graduated you will be issued your FS 1 qualification which will allow you to skydive with anyone you choose who has the same skill level or above. Practicing your formation skydiving skills will mean you will be invited to join many others who have the same interests in achieving some good quality skydives. Sky Science requires a minimum of 4 candidates to run a Formation Skydiving course, if you are interested in learning these very valuable skills contact us for available dates. Remember we train from 15,000ft not the normal 12,000ft that is only available at most Drop Zones
